2024 will be our 14th annual fashion show. We are thrilled you are interested in joining us as we bring our Runway Extravaganza back to the Crown Expo in Fayetteville, NC. The Women of Power segment is one of my favorite elements of the show. Several years ago, I looked around and couldn’t believe how many incredible women are within our community. They move through our daily lives so positively that I wanted to celebrate their achievements. It was also important that I open the door for these remarkable women to mentor the young ladies in the show. Thus, the Women of Power Society of N.C. was born.
Like many women, I wear many hats (and dresses). As the owner of An Affair to Remember, Prom, Pageant, and Formal Wear, I desire to empower women of all ages to enter the world with confidence and power. I am a proud Fayetteville, NC native, mother, and retired military spouse. Plus, I have served as a City of Fayetteville Councilwoman for ten years. I often think I am the luckiest woman in Fayetteville. Why? Because I have the opportunity to help young ladies and women find their dream dresses. Nothing beats seeing the pure joy on young ladies’ faces when they just discovered their homecoming, prom, or pageant dress. The light that comes across the face of a mother-of-the-bride/groom as she steps back looks in the mirror, and realizes we just zipped her into the perfect dress! It brings me and our team great joy to know we are helping our community's beautiful young women and ladies look and feel amazing. Our History
The Affair to Remember Prom, Pageant & Formal Wear Fashion Show is an annual tradition highlighting the latest trends in formal wear and prom fashions. We host our event at Crown Complex and showcase designer dresses and formal wear. The catwalk is a beautiful mix of dresses worn by customers, beauty queens, and Women of Power.
In 2018, we enhanced our showcase of the Women of Power as Kathy recognized the need to further elevate the women of influence to lead the way on the runway – not just the boardroom.
Our runway not only highlights fashion design trends but is a way to support women in the community.
